Mike Berkley will be speaking at the following events:Feb 19 & 21 University School, Nashville, 7:00-9:00pm both nights: Native Plants & Sustainable Landscape Design partnered with Kevin Guenther of Design Resource Description: Sustainable landscape design seems to make a lot of sense in the drought-ridden unpredictable environment of Middle Tennessee. Landscape architects KEVIN GUENTHER of DesignResource and MIKE BERKLEY of GroWild have shaped their professional philosophy around naturalistic and sustainable design. You'll share their enthusiasm as they explain how to use native plants and natural design elements to turn your yard into a sustainable landscape. They'll discuss bioswales and raingardens, rooftop gardens and organic-based design. Students are encouraged to bring a rough sketch of their own yard. Class fee $45.00
April 1-2 Conference on Higher Education and Sustainability - The third annual conference on higher education and sustainability will be held at Lipscomb University, Nashville. The conference intends to continue the dialog from previous conferences, looking to advance environmental stewardship within the state's institutions of higher education. April 1-5 Sustainable Products/Services Trade Show - A completely "green" trade show offering a variety of sustainable products targeted to business owners, industries, tradesmen and consumers. Lipscomb University, Institute for Sustainable Practice.
April 3-4 Conference on Sustainability and Business Practice - A conference for local professionals and employers to educate about current and future business opportunities in the field of sustainability. Lipscomb University, Institute for Sustainable Practice.
April 11-13 Bloom 'n Garden Expo - Williamson Co. Master Gardeners lawn and garden show. Mike will be speaking on Friday, April 11th at 4:00 p.m. on Native Azaleas. We will also have a booth at the show.
April 11-13 Elsie Quarterman Cedar Glade Festival, Cedars of Lebanon State Park. The festival occurs when glade plants in the park will be in bloom, enhancing the already beautiful scenery. Time & Topic TBA.
